Wedding cake 02/10/10

A wedding cake request on 02/10/10. The couple prefers a golden classic wedding cake to match with their wedding banquet.

As both of them like daisy and chosen it as the theme flower for the banquet, this wedding cake is of no exception.

The lovely married couple's topper.

Themed wedding cake - Fish and mushroom (Summit Hotel, Subang)

This wedding cake comes with a special request by the wedding couple - to be themed with fish and mushroom, preferably cute and colorful.

I designed the cake topper with the wedding couple sitting on the fish and mushroom at the side. The fish symbolizes the groom (Yee Khan  aka ikan, meaning fish) and the mushroom symbolizes the bride who used to study mushroom taxonomy. Hence this special request comes into place.

The bottom of the cake was filled with sea creatures such as octopus, nemos, star fish and seaweeds. The upper layer filled with flowers, mushrooms and ladybirds. All are edible figurines.

Birthday party with toys

This cake was dedicated for Ivan for his one-year-old birthday. He has lots of toys at home but he especially likes these three toys - elephant, bear and monkey.

Ivan: I love sausage bun. Mommy said I am small boy, I can only drink milk. Coffee is reserved for guests only.

Elephant: I am full with all the delicious food...can I not take the coffee? I want Ivan's milk.

Monkey: Yummy yummy food for tonight's dinner. I want the baked potatoes too.
Bear: What are you doing monkey?

Wedding cake - 1/5/2010

A wedding cake order on 1/5/2010.

The newly-wed couple requested the cake to be simple yet classic, and they do not want any elements that elderly would "pantang". Hence, I suggested to have pink and green with white base which they like it very much.

Birthday Gift Box

A birthday gift box cake specially made for a mother who loves pink. She is a mother of 2 who loves keeping accessories such as ear rings and necklaces and she has lots of boxes like this one to keep her collections.

Matching cupcakes ordered together with the gift box birthday cake.

A cake with lots of nutrients in it

This is a carrot cake with walnuts and prunes, layered and topped with cream cheese frosting.

Some of the nutritional facts about the ingredients of this cake:

Carrot contains B-carotene that is metabolized into Vitamin A. It is needed by the retina in the eyes. Good for vision's health.

Walnut is traditionally used by Chinese to help tonify kidneys and to strengthen the back and knees.

Prunes contain dietary fibers which is a common remedy for constipation.

All time favorite - brownies with walnut and dark pitted cherry

Just a little science behind the cake that I learned from "myNOURISHMENT", a local magazine. Chocolate, especially dark chocolate or cocoa powder contains L-Tryptophan which is then converted into serotonin, aka love hormone and melatonin, aka sleep promoting hormone thus diminished anxiety. In short, we are more relax and happier after indulged ourselves in any forms of chocolate or cocoa.

Of course, Bakelacca's brownies is no exception. We use premium cocoa powder in all our chocolate flavored cakes and cookies to brighten up your mood.

Sinfully good moist chocolate cake

Want some extra flavors instead of pure chocolate? Is chocolate banana sounds good to you? What about chocolate durian?

Must try: Chocolate durian layered cake

Good Old Black Forest

Remember those days when people eat sliced cakes and not cupcakes? One of the cakes that I just couldn't get enough of when I was a kid was the Black Forest. Now that I can bake as many as I want, I still can't get enough of it.

The moist chocolate is soft, spongy and very light. The layer of cooked cherries lend a sweet kick to the otherwise overly light cake. Topped with some delicious chocolate shavings, the Black Forest will always be my personal favourite.

This one is layered with mixed fruit jam, covered with whipped cream and topped with peach and kiwis.  The result is a cake that tastes natural - not overly sweet; And very, very light and refreshing. Perfect for a dessert after a heavy meal.

You can choose your favourite fruits when you order a fruity cakelacca. Popular choices include kiwi, strawberry and mango (real fruit instead of ready made) or prune and marmalade (jam) - even durian.

A Proposal Inspired by Alice in Wonderland

Mr X wanted something special and memorable. It was going to be the perfect dream-come-true for his wife-to-be. Unlike the recent Disney movie that shows a disastrous wedding proposal, Mr X's proposal was perfect!

The heart-shape cake was decorated with so many red roses that Mr X didn't have to buy real roses.
They went to see the movie Alice in Wonderland in the evening and went to an undisclosed location (a private place) for supper. The real life Alice was surprised to discover what was in store for her - there was this lovely cake with a diamond ring on it. And the message on the cake said it all!
They really had their cake and ate it too. Mmmm... it was chocolate and rum inside - sweet chocolate flavour with some rum to send romance soaring into the air.
Alice was very very happy and so she agreed! And they lived happily ever after.
